Frequently asked Questions

Inquires on our products

How long is the delivery time?

Current lead time is approx. 6 months, depending on the specifications.

Do I need to do maintenance?
If so, where is maintenance available?

Mechanical components and laser optical components require periodic maintenance.
The system is designed to facilitate maintenance work.

Is it possible to use the machine for other designed patterns ?

Yes, you can.

Do I need to be qualified to handle the machine?

There are no specific qualifications required, but it is recommended that operators be familiar with general machine handling. We will provide training for the operator.

Is the technology patented?

Some technologies are patented by Qualicaps.

What should I do when I dispose of the machine?

Please dispose of the machine as industrial waste according to the rules of the region where you use the machine.

Do you have any environmental measures in place?

There are no harmful emissions from the device.Regulations vary by region, so please contact your local representative.
(In Japan, we comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.)

What are the prices?

For individual pricing, please contact your sales representative.

Where can I get a brochure of each machine?

You can download it from the Print on Drug Website.

Is it possible to observe the actual product or test the machine?

We have a demo printing machine available for you to observe and make samples.

How much does the machine weigh?

It varies depending on the equipment, but it ranges from 1,500kg to 3,500kg.

Is there anything I need to prepare for before installation?

You will need to secure a location for the equipment and provide the necessary utilities (power, pressure & vacuum).

Do you provide operator training?

Yes, we can accommodate your request.

What regulations do you comply with?

Regulations vary by region, so please contact your local representative.
(In Japan, we comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.)

Do you hold any seminars or information sessions about your machines?

We exhibit at trade shows and hold webinars. We also offer virtual or in person demonstrations.

Inquires on tablet printing

How much does it cost to run the product?

It depends on the conditions, but it costs no more than a cent per tablet.

Can various printing machines print on any tablets/capsules?

They can print on most tablets, hard capsules, and soft capsules.
For UV laser printing, the material must contain titanium dioxide.
When tablets are transported inside the printer, if they have a special shape, they may not be transported (and printing may not be possible), and the transport speed may need to be reduced.

Is it possible to print different desings or numbers on each tablet/capsule?
(e.g., 1, 2, 3…, a, b, c…, etc.)

Since it is designed for mass printing and mass production, the design to be printed is the same design for all tablets.
If you need to print small quantities or different designs, please consider a lab machine.

How do you make the print design?

In the case of offset printing, it is necessary to produce a design roll.
However, with laser printing and inkjet printing, it is possible to design and print freely with electronic data.

I can’t choose which printing method is best for me.

Please provide more information about your project and the object to be printed and we will be happy to advise what is best.

Can you print on more than just tablets and capsules?

Our machine is designed primarily for pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals. Customers using our equipment are printing on tablets, hard capsules and soft capsules.

Are there any adverse effects of inkjet or laser printing on the human body?

Offset printing and inkjet printing use edible inks. In the case of laser printing, only the laser beam is irradiated, so the effects on the human body are minor in both cases.

Inquires on UV laser printing

Can I print in color with a UV laser printing machine?

UV laser printing is based on the physical phenomenon that titanium dioxide changes from white to gray when irradiated with UV light, so color printing is not possible.

Isn’t a laser dangerous?

It is very dangerous to look directly at the laser with your eyes.
Inside the machine, the laser is heavily shielded and interlocked to prevent it from leaking outside the device.

Are UV laser printing machines maintenance free?

UV laser printing machines require regular maintenance of the cooling system for the laser oscillator and the air purifier.
